Raymond G. Truitt is a senior counsel in the Real Estate Department of Ballard Spahr and served as the Firm’s Managing Partner for Finance and Operations through 2023. Prior to 2012, he served as Managing Partner of the Firm’s Baltimore office.
Ray’s practice is concentrated in commercial real estate, including finance, leasing, development, acquisition, and disposition. His practice has included the representation of life insurance companies in their permanent lending programs throughout the mid-Atlantic region, the representation of commercial banks in their construction lending and “mini-perm” lending programs, and the representation nationally of a major pension fund in the entire range of its real estate investment program, including construction loans, construction/permanent loans, participating mortgages, convertible mortgages, joint venture formation and funding, and direct equity acquisitions.
