In reporting on Utah’s HB80, which would raise the bar for circumstances in which a consumer can sue a company that has had its information stolen by data thieves, Deseret News quoted Jacey Skinner, a member of Ballard Spahr's Government Relations and Public Policy Group. Acting in her capacity as the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce’s vice president for public policy and general counsel, she described the proposed legislation as a good middle-ground approach.
