Jacey Skinner, who is Of Counsel in Ballard Spahr's Salt Lake City office, has been named General Counsel and Vice President of Public Policy for the Salt Lake Chamber.
"Jacey's extensive background in government relations and public policy makes her an immediate asset to our organization," said Chamber President Derek Miller. "We look forward to her leadership, during the legislative session and throughout the year."
Ms. Skinner has held a variety of senior leadership roles in Utah state government. Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, she served as General Counsel to Utah Gov. Gary Herbert and as the Deputy State Court Administrator for the State of Utah. Ms. Skinner was also the Director of the Utah Sentencing Commission and a Deputy District Attorney at the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office. Recently, she was named to the Utah State University Board of Trustees.
"I'm looking forward to forging an even closer connection to Utah's business community," Ms. Skinner said. "I am honored to have the opportunity to work closely with our state and city leaders on behalf of the Chamber and its members as we ensure that Utah remains the place we all want to live and work."
The Salt Lake Chamber is Utah's largest and longest-standing business association. It represents the state's 63,000-plus employers, which together employ more than 1.4 million Utah residents.
