Ballard Spahr represented Minneapolis-based Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC)—a world leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of solutions that create a cleaner, safer, healthier world—in the sale of Tennant Coatings to The Sherwin-Williams Company( NYSE: SHW).
Tennant Coatings designs and manufactures indoor and outdoor coatings systems for a variety of applications and industries. Tennant Company has said the sale will allow it to focus on business lines that are central to its growth and enterprise strategy.
Peter V. Michaud, who is Chair of the firm’s Business and Transactions Department, led the Ballard Spahr team. It included Business and Transactions Partner Maggie Tatton, who co-leads Ballard Spahr’s Mergers and Acquisitions Group; Real Estate Senior Counsel Laura Krenz; and Business and Transactions Associate Neal K. Rasmussen. Mr. Michaud is based in Philadelphia and Minneapolis, while Ms. Tatton, Ms. Krenz, and Mr. Rasmussen are based in Minneapolis.
