James E. Mills

James has experience in matters including zoning and land use, eminent domain, leasing, tax appeals, and commercial acquisition and disposition.

James formerly worked as a summer associate at Ballard Spahr. Before coming to the firm, James served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an Armor Company Executive Officer. He worked for the U.S. Office of Special Counsel while attending American University Washington College of Law, where he also served on the Law Review as senior editor. His practice focuses on land use and development, leasing, and government appeals. He is an advocate for veteran initiatives across the country.
