Ballard Spahr represented Sagamore Ventures in the sale of the property of Nick’s Fish House—one of Baltimore’s most popular waterfront destinations—to the longtime operators of the seafood restaurant.
Nick’s Fish House, which has been run by Steve Montgomery, Eric Sugrue, and Jim Weisgerber since 2015, was one of the few restaurants on the site of what is now Baltimore Peninsula when it opened in 2004. Famous for its waterfront views and crab cakes, Nick’s Fish House was named The Baltimore Sun’s 2023 Critics’ Pick for Best Outdoor Dining. The trio of new owners, who own several popular eateries in Delaware and Maryland, have announced plans to expand and upgrade the restaurant.
Sagamore Ventures is a privately held investment company that holds a major equity stake in Baltimore Peninsula, a transformative mixed-use development in South Baltimore.
Real Estate Partners Mark Pollak and Alyssa Domzal led the Ballard Spahr team that represented Sagamore Ventures. They were supported by Litigation Partner Lea A. Phillips and Real Estate Associate James E. Mills.
