Health Care Collusion Task Force Sets Stage for DOJ Enforcement

The Department of Justice's Task Force on Health Care Monopolies and Collusion exemplifies the Biden Administration's interest in scrutinizing the health care industry for possible anti-competitive practices. Philip E. Legendy, who co-leads Ballard Spahr's Health Care Industry Team, spoke to Bloomberg Law about its significance.

"When you see multiple areas of government coordinating and concentrating their fire on a segment of the economy that you are in, it’s a good time to take note and review what you’re doing,” he said. "The government has substantial resources to bring these kinds of cases, so it’s a big deal. This is something different that we haven’t seen before."
