Ballard Spahr Forms Distressed Office Buildings Team

Alicia B. Clark, who co-leads Ballard Spahr's Distressed Office Buildings Team, spoke with Law Week Colorado about the problems facing office buildings, both in Colorado and across the nation.

"There are definitely converging negative market forces that are hitting office assets in particular, and the most significant of those, that could be triggered by some of the others, is declining tenant demand," she said. "The pandemic is really the driver for the reduced tenant demand...and the result of the pandemic is this work-from-home environment that is really pushing tenant demand down."

Ms. Clark is a member of the firm's national Finance Department and Distressed Real Estate team.
