Ballard Spahr IP Attorneys Shortlisted for LMG Life Sciences Awards 2022 Americas

Kenneth H. Sonnenfeld, Ph.D. and Scott D. Marty, Ph.D. have been shortlisted for the LMG Life Sciences Awards 2022 Americas.

Dr. Sonnenfeld has been shortlisted for the Patent Strategy Attorney of the Year – New York award. He has over 30 years of experience as intellectual property counsel to biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry clients, ranging from domestic startups to multinational corporations. He represents clients across a range of inter-party matters, including due diligence, litigation in both district court and in Post-Grant Proceedings, foreign oppositions, and licensing. He also supervises complex, strategic patent prosecution before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and oversees foreign prosecution.

Dr. Marty has been shortlisted for the Patent Strategy Attorney of the Year – South award. He is co-leader of the firm's Life Sciences Industry Group, leader of the Patent Group's biotechnology team, and a member of the pharmaceutical team. His practice focuses on various aspects of biotechnology patent prosecution, diligence and patent litigation, including Post-Grant Proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

The LMG Life Sciences Awards, now in their 10th year, aim to highlight the best in practice in the industry following a survey of the life sciences sector. Practitioners and teams across the United States and Canada are represented in these categories covering the best in regulatory, corporate, intellectual property, and litigation. The awards will be presented September 8 in New York City.
