Matt McClure, a seasoned real estate attorney and partner at Ballard Spahr, has had an outsized impact on the city of Philadelphia during the past year—with a key role in multiple transformative development projects.
For his achievements, Mr. McClure will be honored by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a “Dealmaker of the Year.” The event is scheduled for March 31 at the W Hotel in Center City Philadelphia. Information on the event can be found here.
In 2021, Mr. McClure guided the development of three prestigious high-rise towers, in the Rittenhouse Square, Midtown Village, and Society Hill sections of Philadelphia, and piloted an array of mixed-use and life sciences projects in Center City and University City. While he juggled those formidable jobs, Mr. McClure and his team collaborated to help steer one of the biggest redevelopment projects ever attempted in the region at a massive former oil refinery.
“At the end of the day, all of these projects are successful thanks to a tremendous team effort,” said Mr. McClure. “It’s an honor to work with such a talented group and it’s a great honor to represent our clients on such transformative matters.”
Team Leader of Ballard Spahr’s Zoning and Land Use Team, Mr. McClure counsels developers, nonprofits, and universities on a full range of real estate matters. His practice emphasizes development, land use, zoning, and historic preservation matters. Mr. McClure has represented developer and institutional clients in significant urban redevelopment efforts, with high-profile historic preservation issues, and in successful land use appellate matters.
