Philadelphia Business Journal Names Alan Ritterband a Best Real Estate Dealmaker of 2023

Alan S. Ritterband, a partner in the Real Estate Department of Ballard Spahr, has been named by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a Best Real Estate Dealmaker of 2023.

Mr. Ritterband—known for his work on landmark Philadelphia properties such as Citizens Bank Park, the Comcast Technology Center, and the Navy Yard—will be recognized along with fellow honorees at an event March 21. They will also be profiled in a special print edition of the Philadelphia Business Journal on March 22. The winner of the Real Estate Dealmaker of the Year for 2023 will be announced at the event, along with winners in other categories.

Mr. Ritterband is one of just seven finalists for Best Real Estate Dealmaker, selected by a panel of judges comprising leading area real estate professionals. The competition was open to professionals in the real estate transactional space—including brokers, developers, lawyers, and others—from throughout Greater Philadelphia, including Pennsylvania suburbs, South Jersey, and New Castle County, Delaware.

Mr. Ritterband’s work during 2023 included advising on and negotiating the agreements and contracts for development of three new school buildings in Philadelphia, with a total development cost of $210 million. His practice centers on complex real estate transactions, including development, acquisitions and sales, leasing, financing, and the drafting and negotiation of design and construction contracts.
