Russell J. Burke—a litigator who blends firm and in-house experience to help developers, hospitality companies, and lenders traverse complex timeshare litigation matters—has rejoined Ballard Spahr, firm Chair Mark Stewart announced today.
Mr. Burke will be resident in the firm’s Las Vegas office. He is a member of its Litigation Department and Resort, Hospitality, and Timeshare, Commercial Litigation, Consumer Financial Services Litigation, Class Action Litigation, Mediation and Arbitration, and Real Estate and Construction Litigation Groups
“Few firms have the specialized industry knowledge of the resorts, hospitality, and timeshare industry that we do, and Russell’s experience will wonderfully supplement our deep bench of attorneys who work with our clients in this field,” said Christopher W. Payne, Practice Leader for the firm’s Resort, Hospitality, and Timeshare Group.
Prior to rejoining Ballard Spahr, Mr. Burke served as assistant general counsel at a $1 billion hospitality corporation, where he managed all commercial and complex litigation matters. He has handled both litigation and arbitration in class actions, consumer disputes, contract disputes, data privacy, financial services litigation, wrongful death, bankruptcy and employment litigation matters. At the firm, Mr. Burke also will handle complex commercial litigation matters.
“When I thought about where to make my next career move, it was clear Ballard Spahr was the firm that provided the best opportunity to grow professionally,” Mr. Burke said. “I’m looking forward to working alongside some of the most reputable names in the resorts, hospitality and timeshare field, and I can’t wait to get started.”
