Marjorie Peerce Elected Chair of the New York City Bar Association’s Board of Directors

Ballard Spahr Partner Marjorie J. Peerce—an accomplished litigator with a focus on a white collar defense—has been elected Chair of the Board of Directors of the New York City Bar Association (NYCBA), one of the nation's oldest, largest, and most influential bar organizations.

Ms. Peerce has served since 2017 on the Board of Directors—formerly known as the Executive Committee—which oversees management of the 24,000-member association. Ms. Peerce is also a former Chair of the NYCBA’s Criminal Law Committee, which works to improve the quality, fairness, and effectiveness of the criminal justice system.

Ms. Peerce serves as Co-Managing Partner of Ballard Spahr’s New York office and is a member of the firm’s nine-person Elected Board. During more than 35 years in practice, she has handled high-stakes matters across the criminal and regulatory spectrum. She represents clients in New York state and federal courts, as well as in federal courts across the country. Ms. Peerce has a long and extensive history of pro bono service and is a recipient of the New York Law Journal’s Public Service Award for Lawyers Who Lead by Example, in recognition of her contributions to the public good.
