Ballard Spahr was recognized this weekend by Dawn's Place for pro bono service to the local nonprofit organization, which provides housing, trauma recovery services, vocational training, and other aid to women who have been victimized by sex trafficking.
Ballard Spahr helped to incorporate Dawn's Place in 2006. Since then, the firm has provided pro bono legal advice on corporate governance and tax-exemption as well as counsel on employment and real estate matters. Nearly 20 Ballard Spahr lawyers have donated more than 1,200 pro bono hours of service.
In addition to honoring the firm, Dawn's Place recognized individual Ballard Spahr attorneys for their contributions: Kurt R. Anderson, Mary Croft, Jean C. Hemphill, Christopher A. Jones, Brian D. Pedrow, Eileen B. Quigley, and Sandra Wintner. They were honored at the organization's 10th Anniversary Gala on October 5 at Penn's Landing's Great Plaza.
