Evolving Views on Asset Valuation
Moderator
Patrick R. Gillard
Program
There has been a fundamental shift in asset valuation. Today, solar assets have an expected 35 year life, power purchase agreements have shortened to 10-12 years, and a large portion of the value needs to be extracted during a 20+ year uncontracted period—fundamentally changing the way people view the solar business. Partner Patrick Gillard will moderate this session, which will assess strategies for building value during this period and juicing returns. Topics will include:
- Strategies for optimizing asset performance even during the contract period—is increased performance worth the cost?
- What can you do to re-lever and pull money out?
- What re-contracting strategies are available?
- Are there opportunities to piggyback on existing interconnections to add/combine wind and solar?
- Adding storage in later years
