Laurel D. Roglen focuses her practice on corporate bankruptcy and restructuring, commercial bankruptcy, and workout and restructuring matters. She represents corporations as debtors and debtors-in-possession in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, as well as commercial retail landlords, trade vendors, committees, and purchasers of assets through a section 363 sale in bankruptcy matters, regularly counseling clients on their rights in bankruptcy cases, in addition to negotiating lease amendments, agreements, and settlements. Laurel is also experienced in bankruptcy-related litigation and issues at the intersection of environmental and bankruptcy law.

Representative Matters
- Represent commercial landlords in many of the largest retail bankruptcy cases nationwide, including J.C. Penney, Chuck E. Cheese, Sears, Pier 1, Ruby Tuesday, Lord & Taylor, RGN Group, Ascena (Ann Taylor brands), Guitar Center, Modells, and J Crew. These representations involve advocating for my landlord clients’ interests from the first day of the bankruptcy cases, from going-out-of-business sale procedures and DIP financing order, through negotiation of lease amendments and assumption agreements in connection with a going-concern sale or plan of reorganization.
- Represent large-scale suppliers of key components in the Revlon bankruptcy, including negotiating favorable critical vendor treatment for prompt payment of prepetition claims in excess of $1 million.
- Defend several vendors from preference actions in connection with the Dean Foods bankruptcy, including analysis of defenses, informal discovery, and negotiating favorable settlements.
