Michael T. Kersten focuses his practice on public finance and project finance, acting as counsel to issuers, underwriters, placement agents, investors and trustees in tax-exempt and taxable financings. In addition, Michael represents lenders, investors and borrowers in a wide variety of real estate transactions involving debt and equity, including net lease financings and joint ventures relating to the acquisition, development, and financing of commercial properties.
Michael served as an assistant attorney general for the State of Maryland, and during his tenure represented the Department of Housing and Community Development in connection with its bond-financed and state-funded multifamily loan programs.
