Ballard Spahr Elevates Eight Attorneys to Partner, Of Counsel

Ballard Spahr announced today that six attorneys have been elected to the firm partnership and two have been elevated to of counsel. The attorneys of the 2024 promotions class are based in the firm’s Philadelphia, Baltimore, Delaware, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Phoenix offices.

The attorneys of the 2024 promotions class are:

Tyler M. Cobb, Partner, Finance, Phoenix: Mr. Cobb represents cities, counties, and towns; universities, charter schools, and school districts; health care districts; special taxing districts; land developers; and 501(c)(3) organizations in all areas of public finance. The transactions he has worked on total more than $10 billion nationwide. Mr. Cobb co-leads the firm’s Sports Initiative.

Alyssa Domzal, Partner, Real Estate, Baltimore: Ms. Domzal represents owners, developers, and investors in a wide range of both commercial real estate transactions and land use and zoning projects. Her matters include acquisition and dispositions, site development and construction, project financing, and leasing. Ms. Domzal routinely advises on the real estate components of public-private partnership (P3) transactions.

Colin M. Gaynor, Partner, Finance, Baltimore: Mr. Gaynor advises clients on a variety of real estate matters, with an emphasis on representing lenders in commercial real estate financing transactions, which entails representing lenders in originating, underwriting, and servicing loans.

Michael S. Myers, Partner, Litigation, Los Angeles and Phoenix: Mr. Myers focuses his practice on complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings as well as receiverships, workouts, commercial lease disputes, and commercial litigation, primarily in the areas of distressed real estate and other distressed assets, retail/restaurant/hospitality, and technology. Mr. Myers represents clients across the country, from Northern California, where he is based, to the East Coast.

Laurel D. Roglen, Partner, Litigation, Delaware: Ms. Roglen focuses her practice on corporate bankruptcy and restructuring, commercial bankruptcy, and workout and restructuring matters. She represents corporations as debtors and debtors-in-possession in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, as well as commercial retail landlords, trade vendors, committees, and purchasers of assets through a section 363 sale in bankruptcy matters, regularly counseling clients on their rights in bankruptcy cases, in addition to negotiating lease amendments, agreements, and settlements.

J. Matt Thornton, Of Counsel, Litigation, Minneapolis: Mr. Thornton helps clients achieve favorable outcomes in high-stakes litigation matters. In addition to handling everyday business disputes, he has litigated individual and class action claims related to privacy and cybersecurity matters, mass torts, and product liability. Mr. Thornton also has experience advising media clients on (and, when necessary, litigating) issues arising under the First Amendment, defamation law, and state and federal open record statutes.

Kathryn E. Wendt, Of Counsel, Litigation, Minneapolis: Ms. Wendt handles complex commercial disputes in a variety of industries, with a special emphasis on construction and real estate litigation and distressed assets. She frequently litigates priority disputes, construction defect cases, insurance claims, and mechanic’s liens actions. In addition to real property litigation, Ms. Wendt also routinely handles consumer cases, employment disputes, and other commercial lawsuits.

Brittany M. Wilson, Partner, Litigation, Philadelphia: Ms. Wilson practices complex commercial litigation and has experience in cases involving breach of contract, fraud, environmental, securities, pharmaceutical, and insurance matters. She has defended insurers and insurance brokers against fraud, negligence, and breach of contract. Ms. Wilson also has represented insurers in matters involving receiverships, and has experience assisting clients with preliminary injunctions in both state and federal court.
