Bill Curran Named "Citizen of the Month" by Las Vegas City Council

Bill Curran, Senior Counsel in Ballard Spahr's Real Estate Department, was recognized as the Las Vegas City Council's "Citizen of the Month" for July during a ceremony today at City Hall.
The award is presented to a person who has given their time to help improve the city. Mr. Curran is being recognized for his longstanding commitment to community service. He regularly devotes hundreds of hours a year to providing pro bono legal services, from advocacy for abused and neglected children to offering real estate advice to community organizations and individuals.
Mr. Curran is the Las Vegas office's representative to Ballard Spahr's Pro Bono Committee. He has received numerous awards for his dedication to the community, including the Silver Staircase Honor from the University of Nevada's William Boyd School of Law, the Myrna Williams Children's Pro Bono Award from the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, and the Presidential Award—given by the State Bar of Nevada to a member who inspires by example, advances the administration of justice, and brings honor to the profession.
Mr. Curran's practice focuses on administrative and government law, particularly in the areas of real estate development, land use/zoning, and gaming law. He is former President of the State Bar of Nevada, former Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Commission, and former County Counsel for Clark County.
