Ben Perkins is a Litigation associate who focuses his practice on commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters. Based in Salt Lake City, Ben has developed a national practice and regularly litigates disputes before state and federal courts throughout the country. Ben has deep experience litigating matters dealing with intellectual property rights and often advises clients on how to best protect their brands, ideas, and proprietary information. In addition to his robust intellectual property practice, Ben also handles a wide range of business disputes involving shareholder rights, business breakups, data breaches, fraud, contracts, and business torts.
Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Ben was a member of one of the largest litigation teams in the Intermountain West. Before that, Ben gained additional experience as an associate and judicial intern in Atlanta following his graduation from law school.

- Successfully opposed a motion for a temporary restraining order sought against a client for alleged misappropriation of trade secrets and quickly obtained a favorable settlement
- Rapidly secured the return of confidential information and trade secrets that were impermissibly taken by a client’s former employee
- Obtained complete dismissal of a lawsuit brought against a client for alleged trademark infringement on personal jurisdiction grounds
