
Cecilia Nieto is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department, focusing her practice on labor and employment matters. She has experience counseling and defending employers of all sizes to minimize risks and resolve employment-related disputes and litigation. Cecilia routinely advises clients on compliance with various federal and state employment laws and regulations; drafts and reviews workplace policies, employment and separation agreements, and restrictive covenants; and conducts internal investigations. She has defended employers against claims at the federal, state, and administrative levels involving workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, leave, accommodation, and trade secret claims.
Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Cecilia was an associate attorney at a National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF)-certified law firm dedicated to employment law. During law school, Cecilia developed experience through working at the Center for Public Health Law and Policy and the Lodestar Mediation Clinic, and as a summer associate at a leading Arizona commercial litigation firm.
