Cecilia Nieto is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department, focusing her practice on labor and employment matters. She has experience counseling and defending employers of all sizes on a variety of issues. Cecilia routinely advises clients on compliance with various federal and state employment laws, drafts and reviews human resource policies, restrictive covenants, and separation agreements, and conducts internal investigations. She has defended employers against claims at the federal, state, and administrative levels involving workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, leave, and accommodation.

Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Cecilia was an associate attorney at a National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms-certified law firm dedicated to employment law. During law school, Cecilia developed experience through working at the Center for Public Health Law and Policy and the Lodestar Mediation Clinic, and as a summer associate at a Chambers USA-ranked leading Arizona litigation firm.
