Matthew J. Littlefield is a member of the Electrical and Software practice team in Ballard Spahr's Patents Group, where he focuses on patent prosecution, including application drafting, preparing responses to office actions, and foreign prosecution. Prior to joining the team as an associate, Matt served as the firm's IP Patent Process Manager and supervised the IP Docketing Department, the Information Disclosure Statement Team, and the Annuities Team. He also directed support staff in optimizing and maintaining the docket database to ensure data quality and proper interfacing with intra-firm applications.
Before joining Ballard Spahr, Matt served as an associate for a law firm in Atlanta, where he counseled clients on trademark and copyright issues. He also served as an extern at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Department of Justice.
