Jason A. Leckerman is Chair of the firm's Litigation Department, leads the firm's Antitrust and Competition Group, and is a member of the firm's Senior Leadership Team. He focuses on antitrust and competition, product liability, and commercial litigation and regularly counsels clients on compliance and risk. In addition, he assists private and public companies in analyzing potential mergers and acquisitions and obtaining clearance under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.
Jason has successfully defended public and private companies in federal and state lawsuits, including class actions, and in arbitrations throughout the United States. He also has represented several companies as plaintiffs in business disputes involving claims of breach of contract, monopolization, and unfair competition. Jason’s clients have included companies in a wide range of industries, including life sciences, agriculture, manufacturing, financial services, health care, and sports.

- Defends a large agriculture company against antitrust claims alleging price-fixing and a group boycott in multidistrict litigation in Missouri federal court
- Defends a large agriculture company against antitrust claims alleging unlawful bundling in litigation in North Carolina federal court
- Defended a pharmaceutical manufacturer in antitrust class actions in Pennsylvania federal court involving allegations of monopolization related to patent litigations, a citizen petition filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and an alleged reverse payment settlement agreement
Professional Highlights
Pro Bono Experience
Jason maintains an active pro bono practice. He co-leads the firm's Racial Justice and Equality Initiative. He currently helps lead a team defending academic speech in Florida. He recently settled a civil rights lawsuit on behalf of plaintiffs who brought numerous civil rights claims against a town, police department, and municipal judge in Oklahoma for perpetuating a modern-day debtor prison. He has spent considerable time representing asylum applicants and supervising junior lawyers in asylum proceedings as part of the Ballard Spahr Asylum Initiative. He also represented clients pro bono in many other areas and helped expand the protections of property owners in Pennsylvania facing civil forfeiture claims.
