Brandon Hegstrom focuses his practice on intellectual property matters, with an emphasis on patent law. With more than 12 years of experience as a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Brandon works primarily on patents in high-tech areas such as semiconductor devices, cloud computing architectures, and various machine learning and artificial intelligence adjacent technologies.
Prior to joining Ballard Spahr, Brandon worked as a senior patent attorney at a Global 200 law firm. In this role, he managed patent portfolios for a variety of clients and supervised other patent lawyers and legal teams. Brandon also counseled clients on processes for IP protection, conducted clearance analysis, and provided litigation and M&A support.
