Sonia Galan focuses on business transactions, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. As a former Ballard Spahr summer associate, Sonia assisted on transactions by documenting due diligence concerns, conducting due diligence review, drafting transactional documents, and managing closing documents. In addition, she conducted research and drafted analysis reports on legal issues ranging from protection of transaction-related data to parties’ fiduciary duties to corporate indemnification rights.
Sonia also gained experience as a law clerk for a Las Vegas firm, where she drafted pleadings, conducted legal research to support filings, and assisted in case preparation in matters involving bankruptcy, business disputes, and foreclosure claims. Sonia also served as a judicial extern to the Hon. James C. Mahan in U.S. District Court, District of Nevada, where she drafted and researched civil and criminal judicial orders.
In addition, as real estate paralegal for a private investment firm, Sonia managed legal review, analysis, and documentation pertaining to the acquisition, development, leasing, and management of retail, residential, and office real estate property.
