Jacob Dachs represents lenders, owners, developers, and investors in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, financing, and leasing. He also has extensive experience serving as counsel for borrowers and lenders in the negotiation and execution of commercial loans, included revolving and syndicated credit facilities.
Jacob’s core practice is representing lenders and borrowers in complex real estate finance transactions, including construction loans, bridge loans, permanent life company loans, syndicated loans, mezzanine loans and preferred equity, credit-tenant lease-backed (CTL) financings and seniors housing loans.

Real Estate Finance
- Led the representation of placement agent and lenders in a $580 million credit-tenant lease (CTL) financing for a 28-property portfolio of supermarkets in the Pacific Northwest. Drafted and negotiated all lease documents and loan documents and supervised a team of three attorneys and four paralegals in title review and document production.
- Led the representation of syndication agent and lenders in a $120 million syndicated construction loan for a build-to-suit distribution facility in upstate New York.
- Led the representation of syndication agent and lenders in a $82 million syndicated construction loan for a seniors housing facility in Texas.
Transactional
- Successfully closed a $470 million dollar multi-property portfolio sale in Maryland and Virginia.
- Represented real estate fund in disposition of a 3-property $130 million California portfolio and subsequent 1031-acquitision of a marquee property in Virginia.
- Represented private family office in multi-million investment in life insurance viatical settlement business.
Derivatives
- Go-to attorney at the firm for preparing, reviewing and negotiating interest rate caps and swaps in connection with converting floating rates into fixed-rates as part of an asset-backed financing or to otherwise hedge interest rate risk.
- Successfully spearheaded representation of a Fortune 500 company to renegotiate and enter into new swap documentation with eighteen different banks for two distinct business lines.
- Represented a hedge fund using on a total-return swap used to synthetically finance a series of bond purchases.
