Andrew I. Almand concentrates his practice on real estate financing, with a strong emphasis on lender-side GSE commercial loan servicing and asset management requests that concern all manner of multifamily housing product types, including market, affordable and seniors housing loan servicing matters. Utilizing his expansive knowledge of GSE commercial loan servicing requirements and standards, he helps his GSE and loan servicer clients deftly navigate the rigors of complex loan assumptions, transfers of ownership interests and myriad other servicing requests for both securitized and non-securitized loans, including loan servicing portfolios that involve such requests. Mr. Almand routinely counsels GSEs and their respective loan servicers in individual representations, shared/joint counsel representations and, depending on the complexity of the particular loan servicing matter, in consolidated counsel representations of multiple loan servicers.
In addition to his loan servicing practice, Mr. Almand is regularly sought out by lenders and borrowers alike to serve as local Virginia counsel in real estate and finance transactions. Mr. Almand is highly regarded as a “one-stop-shop” for his ability to assist clients across the spectrum of local counsel matters, including structuring effective Virginia transfer and recordation tax-minimizing transactions, as well as reviewing/preparing Virginia local counsel opinions.
