Litigators of the Week: A Defense Win for the New York Times in the Re-Trial of Sarah Palin's Libel Case

David L. Axelrod was named a Litigator of the Week by The Am Law Litigation Daily. This accolade follows David's defense verdict win for The New York Times Co. and James Bennett, former head of the Times editorial board, on a libel claim stemming from a 2017 editorial about gun violence in the United States. Felicia Ellsworth, partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr who worked with David on the case, was also awarded this honor.

"The best part about being a lawyer is representing clients who are true professionals and are so clearly guided by doing the right thing," David said, when asked what he would remember most about this matter. "James Bennet and his Times colleagues are great journalists and wonderful people, and it was our pleasure helping to vindicate them."
