Defamation Lawsuit Against Author of a ProPublica Article Ends After Courts Side With the Writer

Jay Ward Brown and Emmy Parsons successfully defended ProPublica, an independent, nonprofit newsroom that produces investigative journalism, against a defamation lawsuit brought by the former CEO of a fashion conglomerate. The former CEO had alleged that he was defamed by a July 2020 article that chronicled his improbable rise and eventual resignation from the company. Ultimately, the former CEO agreed to pay some of ProPublica's defense costs and pursue no further appeals.
