Jeannette Nyakweba Named Co-Leader of Firm's Diverse Lawyers Business Resource Group

Jeannette Nyakweba, a Ballard Spahr attorney who focuses on political and election law, has been named a co-leader of the firm’s Diverse Lawyers Business Resource Group.
The Diverse Lawyers Group (DLG) promotes and supports the professional and business development of Ballard Spahr’s diverse lawyers, both within the firm and in the broader legal community. The group advocates for enhanced recruitment, integration, retention, and advancement of the firm’s diverse lawyers and promotes inclusion of diverse perspectives throughout the firm.
DLG initiatives include mentorship, professional training, business development support, and client networking opportunities for member attorneys. It is one of a number of business resource groups at Ballard Spahr that support lawyers and business professionals with shared cultural and experiential interests, experiences, or backgrounds.
Jeannette joins Steve T. Park, David E. Chavez, and Raymond Nguyen as DLG co-leaders. Based in Ballard Spahr’s Washington, D.C., office, Jeanette is a member of Ballard Spahr’s Government Affairs and Public Policy and Political and Election Law groups and focuses on lobbying, public policy, and campaign finance compliance. She advises for-profit and nonprofit corporations, PACs, and trade associations on federal, state, and local campaign finance laws and regulations, as well as pay-to-play rules, lobbying and ethics laws, and Foreign Agents Registration Act compliance.
For clients involved in political activity, Jeannette vets TV and direct mail advertisements, reviews contribution and sponsorship requests, and directs registration and reporting for federal and state political committees.
