Robert T. Lieber, Jr., has joined Ballard Spahr’s Litigation Department and Consumer Financial Services Group as of counsel, firm Chair Peter Michaud announced today. Rob is resident in the firm’s Denver office.
Rob is the fourth Consumer Financial Services attorney to join the Denver office in 2024, following Partners Mike Kilgarriff and Joseph Schuster, both of whom arrived in April, and Associate Daniel Wilkinson, who arrived in July. He is the second Consumer Financial Services attorney to join the firm in the past month, with Angela L. Scott having joined the team in Los Angeles in November.
“Clients need our services more than ever before and, in response, we’re growing our team by adding top-notch attorneys like Rob,” said Daniel JT McKenna, who co-leads the Consumer Financial Services Group alongside John D. Socknat. “Consumer Financial Services litigation at Ballard has increased by 35 percent over last year, thanks to excellent client service, strong business planning, and demonstrated capability. Adding Rob to our bench will help us continue going beyond for clients.”
Rob represents clients in mortgage-related litigation and handles matters regarding the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, and state-related claims in state and federal courts. He joined Ballard Spahr from Blank Rome. On January 1, 2025, Ballard Spahr will combine with Lane Powell, gaining offices in Anchorage, Portland, and Seattle and more than 150 new lawyers.
“It’s an exciting time to join Ballard Spahr,” Rob said. “The Consumer Financial Services team is busy, and the work these attorneys handle for clients is critical to their long-term success. It’s a good fit for me and my clients, and I am looking forward to getting started.”
