Ballard Spahr Serves as Underwriters' Counsel in $671 Million MAC Bond Issuance

Ballard Spahr represented Wells Fargo Bank, as representative for an underwriting syndicate that included BofA Securities, Inc.; Barclays Capital, Inc.; Jefferies LLC; Piper Sandler & Co.; and Samuel A. Ramirez & Co., Inc., as underwriter’s counsel in connection with $671 million in bonds issued by the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC). Proceeds from the issuance, which is among the largest ever by the MAC, will finance ongoing improvements to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Benjamin W. Johnson and Ben Vernon represented Wells Fargo. Both are members of the firm’s national Finance Department. The firm’s Public Finance Group, which Benjamin Johnson co-leads, is one of the premier practices of its kind in the country. Its attorneys have participated in the issuance of more than $1 trillion of tax-exempt obligations in all states, the District of Columbia, and American territories.
