Justice's Notes on Rent Law Denials: Road Map or Dead End?

Law360 quoted Roger D. Winston in this article examining results of the U.S. Supreme Court's recent refusal to review two suits challenging New York's rent stabilization law. Ballard Spahr represents a coalition of 35 multifamily stakeholders, and Mr. Winston cautioned against drawing conclusions from the court's decision and applying them to municipalities' rent control regulations.
"The New York cases are based upon New York law, specific provisions of New York law, and how those laws were applied to property owners of apartments in New York," he said.
