Marcel Pratt Recognized by City & State PA as a 2024 Black Trailblazer

Marcel S. Pratt, managing partner of Ballard Spahr’s Philadelphia office, has been named a 2024 Black Trailblazer by City & State Pennsylvania.
Mr. Pratt and fellow honorees are featured in a special edition of City & State Pennsylvania, the multimedia state and local government news source.
The Black Trailblazers honor recognizes “the most influential African Americans making a difference for their companies, organizations, and fellow Pennsylvanians at all levels." These "groundbreaking" individuals come from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and represent corporations, advocacy groups, government, and institutions. They are recognized in their respective fields for achievements, commitment, and impact on the state.
In his legal practice, Mr. Pratt is a litigator who represents clients in high-stakes matters and investigations, from antitrust class actions to government investigations. He serves numerous civic and professional organizations as an officer and board member, including the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the William Penn Foundation, Project HOME, and the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. Mr. Pratt is the former City Solicitor of Philadelphia, a role in which he led the 330-member Law Department, which represents the City in all litigation, transactional, regulatory, and legislative matters.
