National Organizations Rank Ballard Spahr Among 2023 Best Places to Work for People With Disabilities

Ballard Spahr scored 100—the highest possible total—in the recently announced results of the Disability Equality Index, administered by nonprofit organizations Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD).

The Disability Equality Index (DEI) is a comprehensive benchmarking tool that measures tangible actions companies can take to achieve disability inclusion and equality. Businesses and organizations receive a score on a scale from zero to 100, with those earning 80 and above recognized as “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion.”

The index tracks numerous criteria across categories such as culture and leadership, enterprise-wide access, community engagement, supplier diversity, and employment practices, including recruiting and retention. The administering organizations also provide detailed recommendations to help organizations improve in each of the various categories.

Disability:IN is a leading nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide, with a network of more than 500 corporations. Its mission is to expand opportunities for people with disabilities across enterprises. The group’s central office and 25 affiliates serve as the collective voice to effect change for people with disabilities in business.

The AAPD is a national disability-led and cross-disability rights organization that advocates for more than 60 million Americans with disabilities by promoting equal opportunity, economic power, independent living, and political participation.
