Ballard Spahr Leads News Coalition Effort for January 6 Video Release
Share
After the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives provided Fox’s Tucker Carlson with exclusive access to Capitol Police surveillance video from the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, a coalition of news organizations turned to Ballard Spahr's Media and Entertainment lawyers to demand public access. Headed by Charles Tobin, leader of the Media and Entertainment Group, our lawyers filed a Freedom of Information Act request and sent a letter to House and Senate leadership demanding release of the video to the public and our clients.
The coalition includes Advance Publications, ABC News, Associated Press, Axios, CNN, CBS News, USA TODAY/Gannett, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, POLITICO, and ProPublica.
