Leita Walker Represents Media Coalition in Effort to Unseal Identities of Jurors in Kimberly Potter Trial

Leita Walker represents a coalition of media outlets seeking the immediate release of the names of both the jurors and prospective jurors, their questionnaires, and the unredacted verdict forms in the trial of former Brooklyn Center police officer Kimberly Potter. Ms. Potter had been convicted of two counts of manslaughter in the death of Daunte Wright, whom she shot to death during an April 2021 traffic stop. Ms. Potter claimed she accidentally used her firearm rather than her Taser.
The media coalition included the Star Tribune, the Pioneer Press, the Washington Post, CNN, CBS, and NBC. Ms. Walker is a member of Ballard Spahr's Litigation Department and Media and Entertainment Group.
