Ballard Spahr Signs 11-Year Deal to Remain in Downtown Baltimore

Ballard Spahr recently signed an 11-year lease for a 21,000-square-foot office space on Calvert Street in downtown Baltimore, the Baltimore Business Journal reported. Although the firm is moving from the Lombard Street location it has leased since 1992, Office Managing Partner Jon Laria said the firm was committed to remaining in the central business district.

"Ultimately, we decided that we belong in the traditional downtown because our practice areas lend themselves to the proximity of city offices and courthouses that are all downtown," Mr. Laria said. "In addition to those very practical issues, we felt like downtown needs the support and we decided we wanted to make a statement by staying in Baltimore."
