Leita Walker, a First Amendment litigator in the Minneapolis office of Ballard Spahr, has been named to The University of Kansas School of Law Board of Governors.
Ms. Walker, an alumna of the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas School of Law, defends media organizations in an array of high-stakes matters, including libel litigation and access to governmental and judicial records. She was named a Minnesota Lawyer Attorney of the Year for 2020, largely thanks to her work on behalf of reporters and outlets covering George Floyd’s killing and the subsequent unrest and trial.
The members of the University of Kansas School of Law Board of Governors serve as the representation and the voice of alumni to the law school. Ms. Walker will serve a four-year term.
