New York Got An Anti-SLAPP Law. Will Federal Courts Use It?

Ashley Kissinger was quoted in a Law360 article about New York state’s recent anti-SLAPP legislation. "These changes are both radical and critical," said Ms. Kissinger, who is of counsel in Ballard Spahr’s Media and Entertainment Law Group. "The problem remains, however, that any defamation plaintiff who is not from New York can avoid this statute simply by suing a New York-based media defendant in federal court."
