Ballard Spahr Deal Team Advises Radian Group Inc. in Acquisition of Entitle Direct Group, Inc.

Ballard Spahr, led by Partners Travis J. Leach and John D. Socknat, represented Radian Group Inc.—a leading provider of private mortgage insurance, risk management products, and real estate services to financial institutions—in the company's acquisition of Entitle Direct Group, Inc.

The transaction closed on March 27, 2018. Entitle Direct, a national title insurance company with 40 state title insurance licenses, is expected to complement the geographic reach of Radian's existing title agency, ValuAmerica.

Mr. Leach, based in the firm's Phoenix office, focuses on mergers and acquisitions transactions and is a member of the firm's Mortgage Banking Group and leader of the firm's Emerging Growth and Venture Capital Group and its Sports Practice. Mr. Socknat, who is based in Washington, D.C., and co-leads the firm's Mortgage Banking Group, advises clients on compliance and licensing matters under state and federal law.
