D.C. Courts Name 46 From Ballard Spahr to Pro Bono Honor Roll

Forty-six attorneys from Ballard Spahr have been named to the District of Columbia Courts' Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll in recognition of the significant time they devoted to pro bono service in 2017.

The annual Honor Roll recognizes members of the D.C. Bar and others authorized to perform pro bono work in the District who provide 50 or more hours of pro bono services in a year.

The Honor Roll program is supported by the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center and the D.C. Access to Justice Commission, and is jointly sponsored by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

The attorneys in Ballard Spahr's Washington, D.C., office contribute thousands of pro bono hours each year to a variety of individuals, organizations, and causes, including domestic violence victims, people with disabilities, and military veterans. The firm is a signatory to the Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge, established by the American Bar Association and administered by the Pro Bono Institute, under which Ballard Spahr has made and met a commitment to donate 3 percent of its billable hours annually to pro bono services. In 2017, the firm donated more than 43,000 hours in pro bono legal services.
