Join us for a three-part program addressing potential litigation risks and liability facing educational institutions whether or not they choose to reopen, major issues related to reopening safely, and the obligations and liability relating to what information an institution must disclose to the public.

Part II of this series assumes a scenario where educational institutions reopen their campuses, and addresses issues relating to employment, health and safety, community relations, as well as a modified student experience. Panelists will identify issues and provide practical advice for developing, implementing, and enforcing appropriate policies and practices during this unprecedented time.
Topics will include:

  • Planning reopening:
  • Communications;
  • Accommodations required under the ADA for virtual learning;
  • Conducting risk assessments;
  • Ongoing monitoring, including testing, and crisis response;
  • Employment issues implicated by COVID-19, including leave policies and sabbaticals;
  • How to enforce policies and procedures, particularly as they relate to social distancing;
  • Appropriate personnel to handle oversight and policy violations;
  • Balancing precautions with the impact on the student experience;
  • Managing relationships with the public and local entities;
  • Providing similar on-campus and virtual opportunities for vulnerable student populations;
