Pennsylvania's New Law 'SLAPPs' Back at Frivolous Suits Over Free Speech

In July 2024, Pennsylvania joined more than 30 other states by enacting an anti-SLAPP law. Michael Berry, who was instrumental in the drafting of the law, wrote an op-ed piece that was published in media outlets across Pennsylvania. In it, he explains how the anti-SLAPP law makes sure Pennsylvanians can speak freely by stopping meritless claims before they get off the ground, while still allowing cases with potential merit to move forward.
