The Fashion Industry Must Face 'Forever Chemicals'

Writing in the New York Law Journal’s Fashion Law special section, Marjorie J. Peerce and Erin M. Carter offered the fashion industry a word to the wise on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS or Forever Chemicals. New federal and state regulations mean makers of apparel that often contains PFAS, like footwear and rain gear, need to be aware of their new responsibilities.

Marjorie is Ballard Spahr’s New York Office Managing Partner, and Erin is a member of its Environment and Natural Resources and PFAS Regulation, Enforcement, and Litigation teams. The firm also has launched a PFAS Legislation Tracker to monitor regulatory developments concerning PFAS.
