The late Edward R. Becker, chief judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, was a pillar of professional propriety and reverence for the law. To David Fryman, a retired partner from Ballard Spahr's Labor and Employment Group, he also was Uncle Eddy, his mother's brother.
