Debra S. Lawrence

As Chief Operating Officer, Debra S. Lawrence oversees Ballard Spahr’s business, financial, and administrative operations. She serves on the firm’s Management Committee and Senior Leadership Team and focuses on the firm’s growth strategy and execution.

Debra manages teams responsible for business operations, lateral growth and integration, finance, marketing and business development, pricing and legal project management, human resources, information services, office operations, research and intelligence, and risk management. In addition, she provides strategic guidance and analysis to support and enhance firm profitability and market position.

With more than 25 years of strategic advisory experience in the legal industry, Debra leads initiatives to position for new growth opportunities across geographies and practices. Reporting directly to the Chair, she works closely with firm leadership to develop and implement strategic and financial priorities, advance innovative business practices, and enhance the value we provide to clients.
