Saumya Vaishampayan is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department, focusing her practice on media and First Amendment matters. She has experience drafting dispositive motions in defamation cases, conducting prepublication review, and helping clients obtain public records.
During law school, Saumya was a member of the Rutgers Constitutional Rights Clinic, where she briefed and argued an appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in June 2022.
Saumya reported on global financial markets for seven years before becoming a lawyer. She spent most of her journalism career at The Wall Street Journal, based in New York and Hong Kong.
