Law360 talked with Brendan Collins about the EPA's recently adopted rule limiting greenhouse gas emissions from power plants, which accelerates the timeline for the electricity sector's transition away from fossil fuels.

"Experts say it's also important for utilities to look at the GHG rule in tandem with the other rules finalized by the EPA covering mercury emissions, wastewater and coal ash. For example, Collins said that the updated Mercury and Air Toxics Standards requiring continuous emissions monitoring systems could result in a lot more coal plants violating particulate matter emissions standards and having to install additional pollution controls."
