Colorado Governor Jared Polis has appointed Sarah B. Wallace, a Litigation Partner in Ballard Spahr’s Denver office, to the Second Judicial District bench.
Ms. Wallace fills the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Ross Buchanan. Her appointment becomes effective Jan. 10, 2023.
At Ballard Spahr, Ms. Wallace handles litigation and arbitrations of all kinds including, trade secret litigation, breach of contracts, employment litigation (including enforcement of non-competition and non-disclosure agreements), and asset purchase disputes.
Ms. Wallace led a Ballard Spahr team that worked on what is believed to be the longest-running civil case in Colorado history, a 40-year saga concerning area residents’ right of access to a private ranch in the San Luis Valley. Her pro bono work on the matter has been recognized by the firm, with its Alan J. Davis Award and attendant $25,000 prize, and earned her a nomination for the Colorado Lawyers Committee Individual of the Year award.
